The area between the faceoff circles in an offensive zone is called the slot. The word “slot” actually refers to two different areas in the rink: the low slot, located right in front of the goaltender, and the high slot, situated in the middle of the ice above the faceoff circles. Both areas have the same function: scoring goals. So, the slot is an area where a small winger can shoot and get a clear shot at the net.

The term’slot’ has a variety of meanings. Its grammatical function can fit any morpheme sequence. A slot can be a job opening or assignment. The chief copy editor holds the job of copyeditor in a newspaper. The word can also refer to a position, such as a copy desk opening. A slot is also a job authorization issued by an airport or air-traffic authority.

In addition to the built-in slot types, the user can create custom slots using the Utterance tab. The value of the slot should be in the extended ISO-8601 format. The built-in datetime mapping maps date and time values to the corresponding utterance fields. Then, the user can add or remove slots from the Utterance tab. After adding a slot, the user can map it to a new utterance using the “slots” tab.

The word “slot” is an archaic word for a hollow place. It is derived from Middle Dutch and Low German and is a synonym of Old Norse slot, Old High German sloz, Old Saxon slod, and Old Frisian slut. The word was first recorded in the 1520s, and the meaning of slot in the context of a slot machine came about in the 1880s.
